?to promote the development of both basic theories and empirical studies;
?to encourage innovation while strictly adhering to the professional norms of rigorous scholarly research;
?to contribute to the formation of intellectual consensus on the basis of respecting the multiplicity of orientations and analytical approaches.

CRPE actively fosters the dialouges, exchanges and collaborations between the circles of Chinese scholars and international colleagues. It provides a forum for Chinese scholars to learn from the work of international colleagues, and particularly based on the rich experiences of China’s economic transformation, to contribute to the development of the international literature of research in political economy.
